About the Library
Mission
The Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library is a branch library located on the East Bank on the second level, 210 Rapson Hall. The new addition was designed by Steven Holl, internationally known architect in NYC. While the Library primarily supports research and curriculum of the College, it's mission extends to serve the students and staff of the University of Minnesota and the greater Minnesota community.
Collections
The focus of the collection is on Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Building Technology, City Planning, and Landscape Ecology. The library houses approximately 37,000 volumes of books and bound journals in a space of eight thousand square feet. The library has 165 journal subscriptions, a small but growing number of videotapes/DVD, and other printed materials such as graduate theses from the Architecture program and capstone projects from the Landscape Architecture program.
